In Bangladesh, the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus is more than 550,000, and the number of deaths is about 8,500.

There were fears that a second wave of winter would arrive, and in fact the number has been on the rise since February, with recent numbers of new infections ranging from about 500 to 1,000.

In Rohingya refugee camps, families of 8 to 10 people often live in a 10 meter square shelter, and sanitation facilities such as toilets and bathing areas are shared by several households.

As a result, infections are characterized by the tendency to spread, but there is also insufficient knowledge and habituation of disinfection activities, soap and other hygiene products, and infection prevention measures necessary to prevent the spread of new coronaviruses.

Efforts are being made by various organizations to raise awareness and prevention by visiting individual households, conducting sessions, distributing masks, and setting up hand washing stations. However, it is difficult to secure physical distance in the cramped shelters and overcrowded camps, and water use is limited due to water shortage in the dry season.

Construction of 21 Bathing Cubicles and install 30 Hand Wash Devices were completed by construction teams. We have received appreciative comments, especially from women, who used to BC which made by simple bamboo and blue sheets, but now they can bathe anytime.
