Prefabricated school building under construction at an elementary school in Ninawa province, Iraq!

Between 2014 and 2017, our project site Qayyarah, south east part of Ninewa District was occupied by ISIL, and most of the community members were not able to ran away.

The school curriculum was revised by ISIL and parents did not allow their children to go to school.

The school which we are supporting now was destroyed due to the conflict and the community members raised funds for rebuilding the school. However, due to lack of funding, children were needed to study with more than 70 pupils in a small classroom.

Therefore, we decided to construct the prefabricated school facilities to ease the density and to let children focus on their studies.

After 2 months of construction, we are about to complete the activity.
Due to COVID-19, schools are allowed to hold classes once a week for each grade; however, children who were overseeing the construction looked so excited about the new buildings.
