Emergency support to the Fire affected Rohingya and surrounding host community. ep2
IVY has been supporting the reconstruction of housing and sanitation facilities in the host communities affected by the massive fire that broke out on March 22.
Due to the repeated lockdown measures to prevent COVID-19 infection, the cost of construction materials and equipment has skyrocketed, and we were unable to outsource the work to local contractors as we had planned.
The project staff is now taking on the challenge of rebuilding with community carpenters and other local people who have experience working at construction sites.
With the end of the rainy season approaching and the sunny weather continuing, construction work is progressing at a rapid pace.
